About Me

How I can help

Sometimes we need to put on a mask to face the world. We don’t want to burden others with how we really feel and this can leave us feeling lost and struggling to know ourselves or the direction our life is going.

I can offer you somewhere to take off that mask.

In so many parts of our lives, we can struggle to really be heard. I aim to genuinely listen, without judgement, so you can explore the challenges and life experiences that are causing you distress. I can support you to explore and express your true self to give you opportunities to change and grow.

I can help you find who you are

I want to really understand your world

What I Offer

I offer Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy in the south Nottinghamshire area, both face-to-face and online.

I bring my own life experiences, and over 20 years working with children and families in education. I have worked with children, young people and adults across a wide range of social and emotional challenges.

I have experience with issues such as; anxiety, trauma, bereavement, relationships, abuse, parenting, depression, identity and sexuality. This experience, combined with my qualifications and training, can allow me to really enter your world, in order to understand how your life feels for you.

My Approach

The person-centred approach to therapy sees us all as having the innate tendency towards growth and fulfilling our true potential.

My aim is to build a trusting relationship with you, without judgement and with honesty and empathy. I can then support you to reconnect with your inner values and sense of self-worth, allowing you to utilise your own strengths and personal identity.

This can support you through any current struggles, and also build your trust in your own abilities and autonomy and leave you feeling better equipped to be your own expert in dealing with future problems and distress.

During our sessions, you will be treated as the expert on yourself, as I believe that no one else knows exactly what it’s like to be you. You will be in control of the pace and content, whilst I work with you, rather than assessing or evaluating you.

I aim to create a space for you to find your own strengths
